A.R. Rahman may have believed that the trend of remixes in Bollywood is over (as mentioned in a Feb, 2020 interview) but it has once again be proved that they are going nowhere.Despite Rahman's revelation that some of the remixes of his own compositions in Bollywood were 'really disastrous' and 'very annoying', it has come to light that one of his iconic compositions Masakali from Delhi 6 is now getting remixed.

Bollywood music label T-Series which also holds the audio rights to the movie Delhi 6 is producing a video song (just like they did for Humma Humma) with Tanishq Bagchi recreating the music and Tulsi Kumar (T-Series head Bhushan Kumar's sister), Sachet Tandon rendering the vocals.

“AR Rahman created a musical gem in ‘Masakali’ which has been a personal favourite for years. The song is still a rage among youngsters, so I thought it might be a good idea to present it in a new fashion. We got Sidharth (Malhotra) and Tara (Sutaria) for the song as they look good together on screen and they infused life into the chartbuster”, said Bhushan Kumar.
