Mani Ratnam's multi-starrer Vaanam Kottattum and Jiiva's Seeru hit the screens worldwide on February 7. Both the films bagged positive to mixed reviews from critics and audience. In its opening weekend, Vaanam Kottatum topped Chennai Box Office by raking in Rs. 55 lakhs while Seeru collected Rs. 53 lakhs. In Tamilnadu, Jiiva's film has minted Rs. 2.83 cr while Vikram Prabhu's film has grossed Rs. 2.72 cr in 3 days. 

Vaanam Kottattum starring Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Rajesh and Madonna Sebastian in the lead roles, with Sarathkumar, Raadhika, Shantnu Bhagiyaraj portraying supporting roles is directed by Dhana Sekaran and produced by Mani Ratnam.  

Jiiva, Riya Suman starrer Seeru directed by Rathnasiva is produced by Ishari Ganesh's Vels Film International. Navdeep of 'Arinthum Ariyamalum' fame plays the antagonist. The film also stars Puppy fame Varun, Sathish and Joker fame Gayathri Krishnaa among others.
