Pongal is a major festival in TN and media made the most out of the festive week with premium shows and movies. Broadcast Audience Reseach Council (BARC) India has released the statistics for the week starting 11th January to 17th January. According to their data, Vijay's Bigil has recorded the maximum impressions*  when it was premiered on Sun TV on January 15 on the day of Pongal at 6 PM. Bigil tops the Pongal TRP race with 16473000 impressions.

Sivakarthikeyan's Namma Veetu Pillai got 14774000 impressions while Vijay Sethupathi's Sanga Tamizhan got 9470000 impressions which were also aired on Sun TV on Jan 16 and Jan 17 respectively. However Bigil has fetched the 5th spot in Top 10 Tamil TV Premiere Impressions while Viswasam leads at the top.
