Following the blockbuster success of Kaithi which hit the screens for Diwali, the expectations are quite high for Karthi's upcoming family thriller 'Thambi'. The film also starring Jyothika in the lead role is directed by Jeetu Joseph of 'Drishyam' and 'Papanasam' fame which is yet another reason for the hype surrounding the film.

Thambi is set to hit the screens on December 20, 2019. There has been a huge demand to acquire the TN rights of the film which has been finally bagged by SDC Picturez who will also be distributing Cheran's 'Rajavukku Chekku' and Trisha's 'Garjanai' in the future. 

The audio of Thambi is set to be launched tomorrow. Govind Vasantha of '96' fame has scored the music. Karthi shared the news on his Twitter page .

Thambi also starring Sathyaraj, Anson Paul, Nikhila Vimal and Ammu Abhirami in pivotal roles. The film is jointly bankrolled by Viacom 18 and Parallel Minds Productions.
