An 33 year old Indian man living in the US made it to the headlines recently after he brutally murdered his wife for the shocking reason that she was a fan of Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan. A Queens resident, Dineshwar Budhidat fatally stabbed his wife Donne Dojoy, 27, who worked as a bartender and then hanged himself from a tree on November 10, reported the US media.

However, Donne's friends sent the world into a shock by revealing the reason behind the same. “She told me when she was at home watching a movie or listening to a song [with Hrithik Roshan in it], he (the husband) would ask her to take it off because he would get so jealous,” quoted one of her friends. 

Donne's liking for the Hrithik Roshan apparently sent Dineshwar into fits of rage quite often, leading her to eventually move out of their place. However, on the evening of the fatal incident she is said to have stopped by their apartment 'to watch a movie' and while it is unclear what lead to the incident around 7:30 p.m that day Dineshwar Budhidat texted his wife’s sister, saying he had killed her, and instructing that the key to the apartment could be found under a flower pot.

Reportedly, Dineshwar Budhidat had assaulted his wife weeks after they got married in July and was even arrested in August for slapping and strangling Dojoy inside their Queens apartment. “There is no reason for him to have done what he did. It’s unbelievable. He had no right to do what he did", said Dojoy's grieving aunt Silvin Dojoy.
