Darbar is one of the hugely anticipated films in Kollywood which is set to hit the screens for Pongal 2020. Superstar has teamed up with director A. R. Murugadoss for the first time. Nivetha Thomas who is playing the daughter of Thalaivar has revealed his character name in the film. Rajinikanth who has donned the police uniform after a long time is playing the character of 'Aaditya Arunachalam' 

Nivetha took to her Twitter page to reveal her reel life father's name and wrote, "And now for the world to know! There is and will only be ONE  #AadityaArunachalam And he, is MY Appa. Watch! Out! #Darbar"

The film shooting has been wrapped and the post-production work is happening in full swing. Nayanthara plays the leading lady. The film bankrolled by Lyca Productions has music by Anirudh. Darbar Motion Teaser is set to be released on November 7.
