Actress Deepika Padukone who is currently awaiting the release of her film Chhapaak and is also part of 83, was recently photographed exiting director Luv Ranjan's residence along with Ranbir Kapoor. This lead many to believe that the actress was considering joining Luv Ranjan's upcoming film with Ajay DevgN and Ranbir Kapoor and hence has lead to a major social media outrage.
To the unknown, Luv Ranjan was infamously named in the MeToo allegations when an actress claimed that she was sexually harassed by the director while auditioning for his 2010 movie Pyaar Ka Punchnama. The actress had also stated that she was asked uncomfortable questions by Luv Ranjan during one of the conversations which forced her to leave the project.
Fans of the actress clearly do not want her associating with someone who has been named in such serious offence and they have put the same through tweet under the hashtag #NotMyDeepika
I always believed you were better than other actresses of our country as you kicked out all the #MeToo accused people in MAMI association, as well as stood up for equal payment and other women empowering movements. But you’re going to let it all go for a movie? #NotMyDeepika

On a side note if it were for any other actor or actress there would be zero backlash because most of them have zero credibility. Deepika has built a reputation for herself and her ideals. Her fans don’t just stan Deepika the actor but the Deepika the human being #notmydeepika

#notmydeepika When you work with an abuser, you not only nullify the attempts of the survivors to finally achieve some justice, you also stain your own legacy as well. You'll lose respect and credentials as an artist @deepikapadukone Don't do this.

I remember watching your entry for the first time in Om Shanti Om and turning to my dad and asking “Who is THAT?” I was just 7 back then. From then to now, I haven’t stopped loving you or looking upto you, let’s keep that unchanged yeah? #notmydeepika

Do y’all remember this? She was sorry to let us fans down, despite it not being her fault. This is the Deepika i know & admire. I still believe she values us all too much & our opinions matter to her. @deepikapadukone i hope you won’t let us down this time. #notmydeepika pic.twitter.com/djaK5kkO4l

As a neutral fan I feel it's really appreciable that DP fans are slamming her instead of defending Deepika. So rather than mocking them respect them that atleast they aren't blind supporters. Some PC fans are really annoying. Dear Deepika only you can make them stfu #NotMyDeepika

Tbh I’m not really a fan of #LuvRanjan’s films anyway... But from a neutral perspective, I genuinely think the prominence of #notmydeepika trend is a testament to fan power.

Even tho nothing is confirmed, y’all are trending #NotMyDeepika but where is #NotMyRanbir & #NotMyAjay ? Where? Why is that only a woman is always the one to be blamed? hypocrites! Why is she the only one getting hate? Just say that y’all hate women.

Being her fan for so many years, i’ve constantly seen her live upto her words. She’s not said one thing & done another or gone back on her words.I really really hope it remains the same.@deepikapadukone Pls don’t ruin the reputation & trust that took years to built. #notmydeepika
— Sanaya (@shahsanaya11) July 20, 2019
Is it trending on top??
— Perfectly AVERAGE :) (@manishtamancha) July 20, 2019
This is a REVOLT...
Wake up Deepika, respond and clarify..
Do whatever it takes to disassociate from that film..
A film can't be important than years of loyalty, trust and love your fans bestowed upon you, don't rob them of their dignity..#notmydeepika pic.twitter.com/SpE58NED5U
The fact that she meet him and find it in herself to even set and talk to him is disappointing enough for me but her doing this film will prove that she's nothing less than hypocrite #notmydeepika

It's refreshing to see a fandom in India that actually holds their idol accountable. I really really hope that she isn't working with him. #notmydeepika
