The capital city of Maharashtra where Rajinikanth's Darbar has been shooting almost its entire schedule faced one of its worst rains in recent times. This lead to team Darbar bringing their shoot to a temporary halt and returning to Chennai. Latest update is that the crew will be resuming their shooting starting July 10, 2019

Recently, director A.R. Murgadoss had stated that filming for Darbar will carry on till the end of August, 2019 and that the movie will release for Pongal next year.

Darbar has also been in the news for roping in cricketer Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh for an important role. The film if released in Telugu simultaneously will be facing Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru, Allu Arjun - Trivikram Srinivas film, and N Balakrishna, KS Ravikumar project at the Tollywood box-office.
