This week's movies in theaters of Tamil Nadu are an interesting mix but only a few have emerged with flying colors. Here is a detailed look into the options this time:
- Dev (Tamil): Karthi, Rakul Preet starrer Dev which was one of the highly anticipated movies this week has failed to strike a chord with its bland romantic story. The movie has tried imbibing too many things in it which is probably why the film's rating aggregate has not exceeded 42% this week. (Review Here)
- Chittiram Pesuthadi 2 (Tamil): The sequel to Mysskin's famous Chittiram Persuthadi is a delayed film which has released almost 6 years since its inception. The outdated-ness of the film has served as a major blow for the movie and it has not been upto a good start in theaters.
- The Wife (English): The multiple award winning performance of Glenn Close is finally in theaters for the Indian audience and the movie which is about a 'wife' of an accomplished husband taking stock of her life, rides high on the performance of the lead actress. The story may not leave a lasting impact but the movie can be watched once for Close.
- Gully Boy (Hindi):An ambitious rapper from Dharavi overcomes adversity to enter the Indian rapping scene and this Zoya Akthar directorial is the talk of the town this week. From cast's multifaceted performance to the crew's impeccable technical skills portrayed on screen, Gully Boy makes for a compelling watch this week and stands tall with a rating of 74% (Review Here).
- Oru Adaar Love (Malayalam):Wink sensation Priya Warrier's debut film is finally out in theaters and considering the hype the song created for this overnight wonder, the film has been a bummer. Whether or nor the re-scripting post the viral video had anything to do with it is something only the makers can confirm. (Review Here)
- Kumbalangi Nights (Malayalam):Fahadh Faasil's Kumbalangi Nights which first released last week is in theaters of Tamil Nadu 7 days later. The film which is a story of four brothers has highly been praised for its narrative and tops our list of recommended movies this week.
