Sarkar which hit the screens on November 6 for Diwali has done a business of around Rs. 70 cr at the end of two weeks (13 days). The film has minted $9.78 million from the overseas market. In Malaysia, it has crossed $2 million mark by grossing Rs. 15. 16 cr ($2.087 mn) in 13 days. Sarkar is Vijay's second movie after 'Mersal' to achieve this milestone. The film has been declared a blockbuster in UAE - GCC by trade sources. Sarkar turns to be the highest grossing Tamil film this year in UAE - GCC.

Sarkar has been declared a hit in Sri Lanka with its theatrical sold for Rs. 2.8 cr, the film has earned a share of Rs. 2.87 cr till date.  In Singapore, the film which has earned a share of Rs. 3.2 cr (rights Rs. 3 cr) has turned out to be a hit. However in USA, the film has collected $993K till second Sunday and it needs to collect $1.4 million dollars to achieve break even status. Sarkar is yet to achieve break-even status in UK, Australia and few other overseas territories.
