Legal action against Arya's Enga Veetu Mappillai!

 

Actor Arya's ongoing bride-hunt, also known as the TV show on Colors Enga Veetu Mappillai, has been quite controversial in nature. After facing a small bump in shooting at Kumbakonam (the crew were not allowed to shoot at one of the contestant's house and sent back) and facing the backlash of some internet users including BJP's H.Raja on the 'religious topic', the show which is almost close to completion is now facing a possible legal action.
 
A public interest petition has been filed agianst the show a member of the Southern Districts Women Federation and Adi Thamilar Peravai on the grounds of the show being feudal in nature. The petitioner sought an injunction against the telecast of the show and  criminal action against Colors TV, Arya and host of the show, actress Sangeetha. A notice has been sent to the channel and the case will be further heard on April 18.

Enga Veetu Mappillai airs from Monday to Friday between 8.30 PM - 9.30 PM on Colors TV and the show features 16 girls fighting it out agianst each other to end up marrying actor Arya.
