Will Mersal release as planned?

Mersal is Vijay's highly anticipated movie of this year. While the team is planning to have a grand release for Diwali, there are two things that raise doubts if the film would release as expected! 

Ongoing Strike

With the ongoing strike in Chennai by the Multiplex Association of India and Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners and Distributors Association, and no new movie would release from tomorrow as announced by TNFPC, there is no clarity as when the strike will end, which adds to the tension about Mersal's release.

Interim Stay on Mersal title

As already known, interim stay on Mersal by high court as appealed by Rajendran is awaiting a decision tomorrow. Will Mersal get through this issue and emerge successfully with the original title? Or will the team be forced to change it? If the judgement is not favorable for Mersal, do they have enough time to change the title and apply for censor to hit the screens on Diwali? However, the team hopes for a favorable result.   

The team has planned to apply for the censor certificate on 9th October. If everything goes as planned, the movie will hit the screens on Diwali.
