UTV a new force to be reckoned with
UTV Motion Pictures has come to the fore recently with highly appreciated Deivathirumagal and recently released Muran. UTV is expected to release Arya & Madhavan's Vettai, Balaji Shakthivel's Vazhakku Enn 18/9 and Myna fame Prabhu Solomon's Kumki starting early next year.
It is also currently in the process of commencing the shooting of much anticipated Mysskin’s Mugamoodi, starring Jiiva on November 7th. To make up for the high intense movies, UTV has also partnered with 'director-turned-actor-turned-director' Sundar C for a laugh riot quickie, Masala Café, starring Mirchi Siva and Santhanam. Director A.L.Vijay's film with Vikram is expected to begin in December this year.
Clearly, UTV under the able leadership of Dhananjayan has been carefully selecting scripts that cater to masses, classes and art houses. 2010 belonged to Sun Pictures with the mega release of Enthiran. 2011 has been Red Giant and Cloud Nine's show so far this year. Going by the diverse mix of promising movies, 2012 could very well belong to UTV.
