The year 2025 marked another strong phase for Indian cinema at the North American box office, with films across languages recording solid theatrical runs in the USA and Canada. Total Indian film earnings are estimated at $151 million, highlighting the steadily expanding overseas market for Indian films.
Hindi cinema emerged as the clear leader, contributing approximately 41.4% ($62.5M) of the total North American gross. Telugu cinema followed with about 24.2% ($36.5M), reaffirming its strong diaspora-driven performance. Punjabi films accounted for 13.2% ($20M), while Tamil cinema contributed 10.4% ($15.7M). Malayalam films added 7.0% ($10.6M), Kannada films 3.5% ($5.3M), and other languages, including Gujarati, made up the remaining 0.7% ($1M).
