Rajinikanth - Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 Satellite rights sold for 110 crores

Satellite rights of 2.0 sold for 110 crores

In what seems like the deal of the millenium, buzz is that, the satellite rights of Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 which is the 400 crore-sequel to his earlier blockbuster Enthiran/Robo, has been bagged by Zee TV India for all languages. This particular deal has garnered the most attention for the whopping 110 crores price tag it was sold at. Lyca Productions, which originally bankrolled the movie might have just pulled off, what no other regional / Pan - Indian film has done so far with TV rights. And as far as satellite deals are concerned, the record of the costliest deal for a film will now be held by this Shankar directorial, preceeding Aamir Khan's Dangal (75 crores - Zee TV) and his multi-starrer Dhoom 3 (65 crores - Sony).

With the Oscar winning AR Rahman for the music, the film has Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson donning pivotal roles. The movie is expected to hit theatre screens for Diwali this year.
