Vamsi (Hyderabad) wishes If Mugamoodi were a "Super Villain" movie, Mysskin would have had a blast!

Mysskin tries hard but is let down by his inability to take a hard line of whether he wanted the hero or the villian to look more powerful. It is this confusion that leads to the movie not being as good as it could have been. Mysskin's strength lies in taking up dark subjects and building the villain's characterization. Wish this superhero was a super villian and Mysskin would have had a blast (If you look at the last two Batman movies, the villians predominantly stole the show and Nolan was clear that Batman being a hero takes a backseat).

There are scenes of absolute brilliance like the opening crime scene, the interval block, or the constant tension that the director builds up in the background, unfortunately they come in the midst of a lot of average scenes. To make it worse, the Villian tries too hard to do a Joker but he fails. I went with less expectations and found the movie entertaining in spite of the flaws. If you have high expectations, you will be disappointed. Look at it as an Indian superhero film with no comparisons to Batman/Avengers etc and you will be content.

For those who complained for a long time that there is no good “Super Hero” movie in Tamil, here you go. We have seen Superman, Spiderman, Batman and Ironman; here comes our own “Mayavi”. First of all hats off to director Mysskin for his creative thinking when many of our directors are still relying on “masala” entertainers... I really wanted to start the review like this, but I couldn’t do any justice to the cine lovers other than telling the truth. Great disappointment and not worth for the money we spent watching this movie. 

Not sure if Jiiva, who is very keen on choosing apt roles and not sticking to any image, read the script before he accepted the movie. The movie didn’t live up to the expectations due to slow narration, poor screenplay, no big action sequences, lack of heroism. Agreed that Mysskin is famous for his “close to reality” scripts. Then he should’ve never thought about a super hero movie in the first place.

பாட்மேனோடு ஒப்பிடவேண்டாம் என்று நானும் முயற்சி செய்தேன். ஒப்பிட முடியாதபடி நீங்க எடுத்திருந்தால் உங்கள் வேண்டுகோள்  நியாயமாகி இருக்கும். பாட்மேனில் உள்ள அனைத்து கதாப்பாத்திரங்களையும் தமிழ் சாயம் பூசி ஆலயவைத்துவிட்டு ஒப்பிடாதே என்று கூறினால் என்ன செய்வது? 

இப்படி பல கதாப்பாத்திரங்கள் பாட்மேனை ஞாபகப்படுத்துகின்றன. இதில் பரிதாபம் - இவை அனைத்தும் திணிக்கப்பட்ட பாத்திரங்கள். மிஸ்டர் மிஸ்கின், உங்களுக்கு நிறைய்ய விஷயங்கள் தெரிந்திருக்கலாம். பிடித்திருக்கலாம். அவை அனைத்தையும் அனாவசியாமாக திணிக்காதீர்கள். நீங்கள் உங்களையே மிகப்பெரிய இயக்குனராக நினைத்துக்கொள்வதை நிறுத்துங்கள், ப்ளீஸ். நீங்கள் வைக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு பிரேமும் ஆயிரம் கதை சொல்கிறது என்று நினைப்பதை நிறுத்துங்கள். உண்மையில் சொல்லவில்லை!
