Best Music Directors & Albums of Tamil Cinema in 2015

Anirudh Ravichander dominated the music scene in 2015. Anirudh delivered the most number of hit songs that occupied the top position in charts. The average number of songs per album reduced from 5 to 3 during the course of the year. The market position of many established music directors took a deep dive. Anirudh was the only music director whose popularity and market position reached the numero uno position.

Hiphop Tamizha is a newcomer who made the biggest impact with 3 of his albums, Thani Oruvan, Indru Netru Naalai and Aambala, making a splash. Despite delivering quality albums this year, both AR Rahman and Harris Jayaraj lost their edge as the most sought after music directors for big budget movies.
