Insider Report - Why do Tamil Directors and Actors like to cast Sonam Kapoor?

Tamil actors and directors have been working really hard to sign-up Sonam Kapoor. However, lady luck has not smiled back at them. Looks like Manirathnam succeeded in bringing Anil Kapoor's daughter to Tamil for his next movie tentatively titled "Pookadai". 

Sonam Kapoor rejects KO, Vaanam, and Thupaaki 

There has been a long history of Tamil directors and actors trying to sign-up Sonam Kapoor for a Tamil movie. For instance, Sonam Kapoor was the first choice in KO for Karthika's role as journalist. Sonam refused to act quoting the reason being the hero (at that time). Then, Simbu decided to reach out to her directly for Vaanam. She did not even budge. She was continuously reached for many other big budget projects and she denied every single one of them. Recently, AR Murugadoss wanted to pair her with Vijay for Thupaaki. She agreed to act with Vijay. But, ended up increasing her salary to 5 Crores in par with Aishwarya Rai's salary for Enthiran which shocked AR Murugadoss.

Over-protective Anil Kapoor?

In all these meetings, none of the directors have been able to meet Sonam Kapoor in person. Anil Kapoor would be the one talking to the directors on her behalf and listening to the script. He would also demand the full bound script and not just a story narration. For all the attitude, one may assume that she must be very successful in Hindi. Interestingly, Sonam Kapoor has not delivered a single hit so far. All 6 out of 6 movies in Hindi including Saawariya, Delhi-6 have all failed miserably. 

Finally, Mani may have succeeded in convincing the Kapoor girl to act in a Tamil movie.
