Run, Amarkalam Set for April 24 Re-Release

Two popular Tamil films, Run and Amarkalam, are set to return to theatres on April 24.

Actor Madhavan confirmed that Run, directed by N. Lingusamy, will be re-released across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala. The early 2000s hit, which marked a turning point in Madhavan’s career, also starred Meera Jasmine in her Tamil debut and is remembered for its action, comedy, and music.

Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar’s Amarkalam, directed by Saran, will also hit screens the same day. The 1999 film, which starred Ajith alongside Shalini, is notable for the real-life romance that blossomed between the two during its making.

Run follows a young man navigating love and conflict in Chennai, while Amarkalam revolves around a rowdy whose life changes after he kidnaps a police officer’s daughter.

Both films continue to enjoy strong recall value among audiences, with their re-releases adding to the growing trend of classic Tamil films returning to theatres.
