Ranjan - The Advocate: Prashanth to Star in Court Tamil Remake

Veteran actor-director Thiagarajan has officially announced the Tamil remake of the Telugu hit Court – State vs A Nobody (2025), with his son Prashanth playing the lead. Titled Ranjan – The Advocate, the announcement was made on the actor’s 53rd birthday.

Confirming earlier buzz, the makers also revealed that Devayani’s daughter Iniyaa Rajakumaran and producer S. Kathiresan’s son Hari will make their acting debuts as leads, with Priyanka (Devayani’s other daughter) playing a key role. Further casting details are yet to be disclosed.

The courtroom drama will have music composed by GV Prakash, with Ravi Yadav handling cinematography and Senthil Raghavan as art director. The film is produced by Shanthi Thiagarajan, and shooting is currently underway.

Originally directed by Ram Jagadeesh and presented by Nani, Court – State vs A Nobody was both a critical and commercial success, reportedly grossing over ₹57 crore. The film dealt with legal complexities surrounding the POCSO Act and its misuse.

Thiagarajan had previously remade Andhadhun as Andhagan, which turned out to be a commercial success, with Prashanth in the lead.
