Ajith honours F1 Legend Ayrton Senna by kissing his statue at Imola

Brazilian Formula One legend Ayrton Senna da Silva needs to introduction to race car enthusiasts, for the famous racing driver participated in F1 championships from 1984-1994. Senna tragically passed away during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at Imola, which triggered subsequent safety reforms in the car racing world. 

The Imola Circuit, officially called the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, currently plays host to a bronze statute of Ayrton Senna, in honour of the late three-time F1 champion. Senna died on May 1, which also happens to be Tamil star actor and motorsports enthusiast Ajith Kumar's birthday. 

Ajith was 23 years old and had already done three movies in Kollywood when Senna was no more. Currently Ajith is 54 with 64+ movies under his belt, and owns a car racing team called Ajith Kumar racing, through which he also participates in European circuits. Recently, Ajith Kumar Racing updated a video of Ajith paying his respect to Senna at the Tumberello corner in Imola circuit. 

 

 

An emotional Ajith could be seen kissing the feet of Ayrton Senna's statue, and even kneeling and paying his respects. The post has since gone viral among the niche intersection of F1 and Tamil cine fans. Ajith in a recent interview with Mashable India also revealed that his favourite racing personality whom he idolizes is Ayrton Senna. 

"My favourite whom I idolize (in racing) is Ayrton Senna..I don't wish to be unfair to the other drivers, they are all the best drivers in the world but something about Ayrton Senna. Even off the racing (field), his interviews, even as a person, he kind of motivated me in many ways and not just in motorsports, in life in general", revealed Ajith about Ayrton Senna.
