The Oscars 2025 brought the biggest wins for American romantic comedy Anora (2024), which tells the story of a stripper named Ani (Mikey Madison), and her whirlwind romance with a Russian heir (Mark Eydelshteyn). Anora is written, directed, produced, and edited by Sean Baker, a filmmaker known for making independent features on the lives of immigrants and sex workers.

Sean Baker created history at the Oscar 2025 evening, by becoming the first person to win four Oscars in a single evening for the same film. Sean took home four trophies for Best Picture (as producer), Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing for Anora. 

Celebrated filmmaker Walt Disney is the only other person to have won 4 Oscars in a single evening, back in 1953. However Walt Disney won his trophies for four different movies - The Living Desert (Best Documentary Feature), The Alaskan Eskimo (Best Documentary Short), Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom (Best Cartoon Short), and Bear Country (Best Two-Reel Short). 

Walt Disney continues to be the person with the most Oscar wins, with 22 Oscar trophies to his name.
