Actor Dhanush's 55th film, which tentatively goes by D 55 was officially lanunched with a pooja ceremony on Friday. Dhanush is teaming up with Amaran director Rajkumar Periasamy for the first  time, and D 55 will be produced by Gopuram Films as their seventh production venture. 

A few days before, director Rajkumar Periasamy had said that his next movie after Amaran will have survival as the theme. This has lead to anticipation among fans if D 55 would be a survival thriller, or something else.
