The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) starring Vijay in the lead released in theaters on September 5, 2024, and made its digital premiere on Netflix on October 3, 2024. Despite being available to stream on OTT platforms, The Greatest of All Time continued a good run in theaters and went on to complete 50 days of theatrical run only recently. The AGS Entertainment produced GOAT is also the highest grossing Tamil movies of 2024 so far. 

One of the reasons The GOAT's box-office was possible, was because the movie had the widest possible release in Tamil Nadu. The Greatest of All Time released in 539 locations in a total of 806 screens in Tamil Nadu via Romeo Pictures. AGS Entertainment, producers of the film plan to repeat this box-office magic by repeating the 806-screen release for Allu Arjun starrer Telugu sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule in Tamil Nadu. 

Speaking at an event for Pushpa 2: The Rule, a representative from AGS Entertainment said on stage, "We (AGS Entertainment) want to thank Naveen garu and Ravi garu for giving this opportunity to release the brand 'Pushpa' in Tamil Nadu. It is not just a brand, it's a National brand. Pushpa has got so much potential to open up (big) at the Tamil Nadu box-office." 

He added, "Barring Vijay Sir, Ajith Sir and Rajini Sir, there are no other heroes who have a double digit opening in Tamil Nadu. But AGS believes 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' will have a double digit opening in Tamil Nadu on day 1..We have recently released 'GOAT' throughout Tamil Nadu in 539 locations, in around 806 screens. Pushpa 2 will be releasing in the same amount of locations, in the same number of screens in Tamil Nadu. The kind of expectations exhibitors are showing with Pushpa 2 is tremendous..Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) has done about Rs. 80 Cr. share in Tamil Nadu. Pushpa 2 aims to touch Baahubali 2 (share)."
