Actor Dhanush's 50th film Raayan, which he has written, directed and played lead in, was scheduled to release in theaters worldwide on June 13, 2024 [Thursday]. As reported by MovieCrow a fortnight ago, the film's postponed release date has now been officially announced as July 26, 2024 [Friday].

Set against the backdrop of North Chennai, Raayan also stars Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Saravanan among others. 

The movie is a production venture of Sun Pictures, and has AR Rahman for music. Raayan will hit theater screens in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
