[Updated: January 12, 2023] The Black Tigers was an elite suicide commando unit of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a Tamil militant/separatist organization in Sri Lanka, and the first suicide bomber of this squad - Vallipuram Vasanthan, was commonly known by the nom de guerre 'Miller' aka 'Captain Miller'.

While Captain Miller - the upcoming Tamil movie has nothing to do with him or the LTTE, actor Dhanush's titular character turns a rebel similar to how Vasanthan did in real life - after witnessing the suffering of his people at the hands of the establishment. 

Captain Miller hits theater screens worldwide this Pongal/Sankaranti 2024, and is written and directed by Rocky (2021), Saani Kaayidham (2022 - direct OTT release) filmmaker Arun Matheswaran, in his first collaboration with Dhanush.
