Maamannan, touted to be one of actor-MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin's last movies is an upcoming drama written and directed by Mari Selvaraj of Karnan (2021), Pariyerum Perumal (2018) fame. Latest update on the movie is that it is gearing up for a Bakrid release on June 29, 2023 [Thursday]. An official announcement on the same is however awaited. 

Maamannan is a multi-starrer with names like Fahadh Faasil, Keerthy Suresh, Vadivelu among others in it. The movie produced by Udhay Stalin's Red Giant Movies has AR Rahman for music. Recently, Mari Selvaraj revealed at a public forum that he intended on doing Maamannan only of Vadivelu agreed to be a part of the film.

Going by the director's statement, it seems like Vadivelu will have a pivotal role to play in the movie.
