Actor Karthi started an NGO called the Uzhavan foundation in 2019 post the success of the Suriya produced film Kadaikutty Singam, and one of their main causes is making farming accessible to the next generation. In January, 2023 during one of Uzhavan Foundation's events, Karthi had even said, "Kids should start understanding where their food comes from and what it takes for farmers to provide food and veggies. Schools should start agriculture visits,” 

Lo and behold, on March 21, 2023 the Tamil Nadu Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare M R K Panneerselvam presented the Agricultural Budget 2023-24 in the state Assembly, which included a sanction of Rs. 1 Cr. for 'farm tourism' to be promoted in association with the education department for school students.

Karthi's Uzhavan foundation is also an initiative to support and promote all things agriculture, so the actor took to his twitter page to welcome the Tamil Nadu Agriculture budget - 2023/2024. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin acknowledged Karthi's tweet on Twitter as well.
