Wikki 6 (tentative title) is filmmaker Vignesh Shivan's 6th directorial; This project was initially supposed to be a collaboration with actor Ajith Kumar but the team up did not materialize. Actor Vijay Sethupathi, who has worked with Vignesh Shivan on rom-coms like Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (2015) and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022) was later said to be the lead of Wikki 6. 

More recently, actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan is being linked to the project as another addition. It is worth mentioning here that back when Wikki 6 - an action entertainer, was planned as AK 62, Vijay Sethupathi was linked to the project for playing villain. However Vignesh Shivan only wanted Vijay Sethupathi as hero in his movies, so that casting possibility was quickly dismissed.

It remains to be seen if Pradeep Ranganathan of Comali (director), Love Today (actor, director) fame, has been approached for playing villain or some other role.
