In December last year, actor SJ Suryah revealed that he is done playing villain roles, and is making a directorial comeback with a movie titled Killer, that he will also headline. On Friday, Killer was officially announced with Sree Gokulam Movies as the production banner behind the film. 

Actress Preethi Asrani of Ayothi (2023), Election (2024), and Kiss (2025) fame plays female lead in Killer, which SJ Suryah has previously described as a 'spiritual sequel' to New (2004), the unofficial Tamil adaptation of the Tom Hanks starrer Big (1988). 

Killer has also been described as a 'complete commercial film' with a mix of 'action, love, and comedy'.
