The official trailer of Silambarasan TR's Maanaadu dropped today and the video confirms that the movie is a political thriller in the time-loop genre. Simbu who plays a character named Abdul Khaaliq in the movie is seen attempting to kill the Chief Minister played by SA Chandrasekhar and at every successful attempt, he is brought back to the same day and he has to figure out why.

Actor SJ Suryah who plays a in the film is the only one who is on the hunt for the assassin-hero. Kalyani Priyadarshan, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren and YG Mahendran also make appearances in the trailer and there is a tongue-in-cheek nod to Christopher Nolan's TENET as well. 

Maanaadu directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi is scheduled for a Diwali release in theaters. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
