Off late we have been hearing about several South movies opting for a direct digital release on the Disney Plus Hotstar OTT platform and here is an updated list of some of the possible new movies:

1. Bro Daddy (Malayalam)

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s second directorial Bro Daddy, stars him, Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan alongside an ensemble cast and is touted to be a family drama. Bro Daddy is written by Sreejith N and Bibin Maliekal and produced by Anthony Perumbavoor. This film is the latest to be in the news for releasing directly on Disney Plus Hotstar. 

2. Oh Manapenne (Tamil)

A Tamil remake of the Telugu rom-com Pellichoopulu (2016), Oh Manapenne stars Harish Kalyan and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead. Kaarthikk Sundar has directed the movie with Deepak Sundarrajan at the screenplay and it was recently buzzed that the movie is releasing directly on Disney Plus Hotstar.

3. Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal (Tamil)

Another Tamil rom-com which has been buzzed to release directly on Disney+ with no official confirmation yet is the Vignesh Shivan directed Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal. This movie stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha in the lead and has Anirudh for music.

It is worth mentioning here that a brand new Tamil film titled Lift starring Kavin and Amritha Iyer released directly on Disney Plus Hotstar just today. The horror thriller is currently streaming on the OTT platform.
