Supporting comedy actor Maran who was known for his roles in Vijay starrer Ghilli and Kuruvi died of Coronavirus Covid-19 Wednesday morning. Maran was 48 and he was undergoing treatment at the Chengalpet Government hospital for the last two days.

Besides comedy roles, Maran also acted as a villain in several films. Some of Maran's memorable appearances include movies like Boss Engira Baskaran, Thalainagaram, Dishoom, Vettaikaran and KGF: Chapter 1 among others.
