Rockstar Rocks Chennai

Rockstar Receives Mixed Reviews

Much awaited Rockstar opened to mixed reviews today. Critics were unanimous about Ranbir Kapoor's stunning performance and AR Rahman's captivating score. But, blamed the movie for its poor script, especially in the second half, which meanders without a purpose. NDTV said "despite all the frenetic movement in space that Rockstar offers, the film really goes nowehere. It feels strangely static". Times of India called it an "engaging affair" and it is a milestone in Ranbir Kapoor’s career as an actor and a classic cut from the AR Rahman. DNA left the decision up to the viewers by saying Rockstar will largely depend on whether the balance between the story of a broken, unfulfilled musician and the more conventional love story works for you. Noted critic Taran Adarsh has pointed out that the film's script and screenplay are disjointed and erratic. He applauded for its shot making an terrific music score by our Mozart. India Today thought the music has been integrated extremely well in the movie and calls it the soul of the movie. But, the movie lacked spine to hold it together.
