Vijay asks fans not to join or work for his father's political party!

After Vijay's father director SA Chandrasekhar (SAC) registered one of the actor’s fan clubs as a political party called All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, the Thalapathy actor went on to distance himself from the same through an official statement. Claiming that he became aware of his father's movie only through the media, Vijay wrote,

“I inform my fans and the public that there is no relation whatsoever between the political party that my father has started and me, directly or indirectly..I request my fans to not join the political party that my father has started or work for it. There is no connection between that party and our ‘iyakkam’ (Vijay Makkal Iyakkam which is the official fan club),”

SAC had informed of his move in the media by stating, “In 1993, I started a fan club for Vijay...and a few years later I made it into a people welfare forum. This was done to help people. For the last 25 years, these people have been doing without any expectations. Now, I have registered it with the EC to motivate people to do more good work.”

About his son Vijay's involvement in the party he said, “All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam is my initiative. This is not Vijay’s political party. I can’t comment whether he will enter electoral politics.”

Vijay in his official statement has also warned of legal action in the event of his face, name or his fan club's name being used in association with political actions.
