Intense lockdown in Chennai and some other districts of Tamil Nadu may be coming to an end today but the number of rising Coronavirus positive cases has not reduced in Tamil Nadu. Despite the low mortality rate, COVID-19 is still rampant in the state which is precisely why normalcy has not returned.
Several actors like Ajith from the Tamil film industry have already decided on not resuming pending projects keeping in mind the safety of their crew workers and Rajinikanth seems to have joined this bandwagon recently. Buzz is that the actor has told the makers of Annaatthe to postpone shooting till the end of this year for safety reasons.
Annaatthe was scheduled for a Pongal, 2021 release but has completed only 45% of shooting. The movie directed by Siva and produced by Sun Pictures is looking at resuming filming in 2021 and release for Tamil New year (April, 2021) at best. An official confirmation on the same is however awaited.
