Director Karthick Naren in trouble again for Mafia!

Not too long ago, we had reported about Karthick Naren's Mafia getting into trouble for showcasing murder victims from Canada as criminals in the movie. Amazon Prime in Canada had to take down the movie from their platform and Lyca Productions, producers of the movie even went as far as issuing a formal apology to the families of the victims.

Now, seems like Karthick Naren has irked another section, for an independent blog published on April 11, 2020 insinuates that the director has used the image of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to portray them in bad light. The blog which is now gaining traction on social media pin-points that Naren has used the name and image of the father of Indian constitution in reference to the 'bad guys' in his films, therefore 'caricaturing them'.

The following scene from Mafia which appeared in the original blog post has been edited in Amazon Prime version of the movie. This scene no longer showcases Ambedkar's image.

The blog has references from both Mafia and Karthick Naren's debut film D 16 and they can be viewed here.
