Kollywood has been witnessing a dry phase at the Box Office which is expected to continue till March with exams round the corner. The film industry and exhibitors are eagerly waiting for Summer releases in April and May to bring a boost to the otherwise dull market. 

While Vijay's Master and Suriya's Soorarai Pottru are gearing up for April release, three films have planned to release on May 1 to captilize on the Labour Day holiday. Dhanush's Jagame Thanthiram, Jayam Ravi's 'Bhoomi' and Vishal's Chakra are set to clash at the Box Office on May 1. However an official announcement is awaited from the makers.

Jagame Thandhiram is an action thriller film written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Y NOT Studios. The film features Dhanush, Sanchana Natarajan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, James Cosmo in lead roles and has music by Santhosh Narayanan,

Bhoomi starring Jayam Ravi and Nidhhi Agerwal in the lead roles is directed by Lakshman. This film is Jayam Ravi's 25th film as an actor.

Chakra starring Vishal, Regina Cassandra and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles is directed by debutant director Anandan.
