Rajinikanth gifts his first solo film producer a Rs. 45 lakh house!

Veteran writer-producer Kalaignanam, who bankrolled Bairavi, Rajinikanth's first solo film in 1978 was recently celebrated at a felicitation ceremony attended by the likes of Bharathi Raja, Sivakumar and Rajinikanth among others. At the event actor Sivakumar had requested the TN government to provide a house to Kalaignanam noting his contributions to Tamil cinema and given his state of rental situation.

Rajinikanth, who like the rest had only then discovered Kalaignanam's housing situation had said, "..I will not give this opportunity to the government. When his breath leaves his body, it must be from my house. Dear Bharathiraja sir, please start looking for houses. He should spend the rest of his life in my house.."

Today, images of Rajinikanth attending the house-warming ceremony of Kalaignanam's 1320 square feet residence on the ground floor of an apartment building (estimated at Rs. 45 lakh) made its way to the internet and the actor is being lauded by his fans for keeping up his words and giving back to the person who supported him in his early career.
