Kaaka Muttai director Manikandan who has worked with Vijay Sethupathi in Aandavan Kattalai, has the actor in an extended cameo role in his upcoming film Kadaisi Vivasayi. The first look of Vijay Sethupathi's character was unveiled recently and along with his quirky avatar, it has come to light that the Makkal Selvan will be playing a mentally challenged person in the movie. 

Yogi Babu is the other actor who has a special role (a mahout) in this film, which has music by Ilayaraja. Kadaisi Vivasayi is Manikandan's fourth film as a director and has a farming village as a premise for it. 

During a recent media interaction, the director spoke about the film's story and said, “People who have left farming return to their village and encounter the only farmer who is an eighty-five-year-old man...It talks about social drama around the life of farmers and their plight while recalling a forgotten practice!”
