"It is a very wrong thing to do..Just because the film takes place in a particular period, it is not necessary to use the songs from that era. (This goes to show that) where they (composers) lack, they fill it (the gap) with already popular matter (songs) which is equivalent to stealing. Reason being they do not have the stuff to give songs that are equivalent to the popular songs (from that era)."
Am from Team '96. For the record . We have paid the royalty for every song of raja sir that has been used . With due permission .@Premkumar1710 https://t.co/OtlWXz3WoX

For a 'unique family song' one has to compose originally. Fuck, you cant use any popular song of that time. Then any tom, dick and harry could sing it just like the members of that family.

In 96 it is totally different, you have to use the pop culture references that 'actually existed' during that era. It would look funny & foolish to drop something new from the sky & convince the audience that it existed in that period.

Dont know why Raja sir didnt get it. 3/3
Again, I don't think he made his comment about 96 or its composer specifically. He was talking more generally about the trend of films taking the easy route of capitalising on his songs. https://t.co/xq6Up6EcNy

According to #Ilayaraja... when other music directors (96 Music Director) used his songs in their movie... it was "ஆண்மை இல்லாத தனம்" then what about his son #Yuvan ? Who has used his songs in #SuperDeluxe ?? Then he is also doing the same "ஆண்மை இல்லாத தனம்" ??
