Prabhu Deva conferred with Padma Shri

 

The multi-faceted Prabhu Deva who has choreographed, acted and directed several films in most prominent Indian languages has been conferred with the fourth highest civilian award - the Padma Shri in the field of art-dance, by the Indian government. 

The government announced names of the Padma awardees 2019 on the eve of the 70th Republic Day and this year 112 recipients have been selected for the prestigious award which includes 4 Padma Vibhushan, 14 Padma Bhushan and 94 Padma Shri awards.

It is worth mentioning here that Malayalam actor Mohanlal and S. Nambi Narayanan on whom actor Madhavan is making a film currently (Rocketry: The Nambi effect) have each been conferred with the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award.
