A while ago, Pa. Ranjith, director of films like Attakathi, Madras, Kabali and Kaala confirmed to the media that he will be making his debut in Bollywood, for a film to be produced by Beyond the Clouds producers Namah Pictures. Now, he has revealed that this said movie will be based on Jharkhand's revolutionary leader Birsa Munda, who during the British regime fought for many causes.
Ranjith also said that the movie will be based on a Bengali novel titled Aranya Adhiker by Maha Sweta Devi. He however did not reveal the title or the cast of the film.

This film is said to be set in an era dating 200 years back since Birsa Munda, is most famous for revolting against the British in 1894, demanding that farmers get their tax arrears removed.
