It was at the the audio launch of Kaala that Rajinikanth revealed about listening to a script from directorVetri Maaran which was 'all about politics'. However, Rajinikanth did not take up that script, considering he has not decided to join politics the time he heard that script.

Now, director Vetrimaaran whose Vada Chennai is releasing with Rajinikanth's son-in-law Dhanush, has spoken about the said script in an interview. He has said, "I don't know if I can do a film with Rajini Sir anymore. I doubt If I have could give him the time that he requires. Because he too has committed to a lot of things....I don't think that political script is happening anytime.."
