Movies This Week: Mission Impossible Fallout it is!

There were two film releases each in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages but the film which ended up getting the most attention was the Hollywood biggie Mission Impossible: Fallout, followed closely by Tovino Thomas starrer Maradona. Here is a look at the options for movie-goers this week

  • Junga (Tamil) Vijay Sethupathi in the role of a don invoking laughs may have worked in the past but it doesn't seem to have for Junga. The movie which has the hero playing a stingy don finding himself at a overseas location has raked 50% in our film ratings. (Review Here)

  • Mohini (Tamil) A horror film, Mohini is about a spirit taking revenge by entering the body of its mortal look-alike (both played by Trisha). The movie is not off to a good start and has only gained 39% in our movie ratings.

  • Mission Impossible: Fallout (English) The sixth film in the Mission Impossible series, MI Fallout is being touted as the best one in the franchise so far. The plot, visuals and the stunts are unanimously praised about and this Tom Cruise starrer would be your best bet this weekend, even if one is unfamiliar with the earlier films of the MI series (Review Here)

  • Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster 3 (Hindi) Another film from a hit franchise this week, Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster 3 sees the return of Jimmy Shergill (the King) and Mahie Gill (his estranged wife) as the feuded royals and the new gangster Sanjay Dutt. The film however seemed to have run short of the sparks in the cat-and-mouse game for it has raked a mere 40% in our movie ratings.

  • Maradona (Malayalam) A goon on the run for his life meets a good-hearted potential love interest and rethinks his values - this is what Maradona is all about. Playing a character with flaws is not new to Tovino Thomas and he seems to have excelled in it, as Maradona is one of the better films this week with a rating of 58%.

  • Saakshyam (Telugu) A revenge drama with emphasis on nature being the ultimate power-play, Saakshyam starrs Bellamkonda Srinivas and Pooja Hegde and has not had too many favourable reactions. The movie stands with a rating of 49% this week.

Others:
Also available to watch this week are Pedavi Datani MatoKatundhi (Telugu), which is a romantic film about a young man who takes up the job of a janitor, trying to break a cupid's curse and Nawabzaade (Hindi), which tells the tale of three best friends falling for the same girl and turning foes in the process.
