Release Trouble for Vishal's Irumbu Thirai - Distributors allege foul play

Actor Vishal starrer Irumbu Thirai is due to hit theatre screens on May 11, 2018 and with hardly 3 days left, the Tamil Nadu distributors of the film have called out the foul play they believe is being strategised to obstruct their film's release. Addressing the press today, Sridharan Mariadhasan and PT Selvakumar of Krikes Cine Creations have alleged that Arulpathy of Tamil Nadu Distributors Association is pressuring the theatre owners in the state to not give any screens to their movie. While the reason behind the feud is not known, Vishal & co. being at loggerheads with the Theatre Owners and Distributors association is not new.

If one may recall, even when the TFPC Strike was initially announced, the Chennai wing of Theatre owners and the distributors had decided to not give their co-operation to the Producers' council. Whether the current development is an extension of the same tension is something only time can tell.

Irumbu Thirai is directed by debutant P.S. Mithran and is touted to be a film on cyber terrorism. The film has Samantha playing female lead and Yuvan Shankar Raja for music
