After Digital Service Providers, TFPC gets into an agreement with E-Cinema server & mastering facilities!

Day 42 of the TFPC Strike, also known as the Tamil Cinema Strike and looks the Tamil Nadu Film Producer's Council (TFPC) is focussing on building new partnerships. After getting into an agreement with a new Digital Service Provider named AEROX, that has promised to offer 50 per cent lesser cost than the existing Virtual Print Fee (VPF), the council has now partnered with a film mastering facility called Microplex and an E-cinema (Electronic cinema) server providing facility called K Sera Sera

It is worth mentioning here that theatres these days have evolved to the usage of D- Cinema (Digital cinema) screens that uses a sophisticated 2K projector while the previous generation E-cinema screens uses the cost-effective 1.3K or 1.92K projector. There has also been reports of AEROX rates not been revealed as yet (for comparing whether or not they are actually 50 percent less than the existing VPFs) and if or nor the DSP is up to date with high-end security features such as forensic water-marking and mechanisms to prevent theft of a film from the server.

Also it is not clear where exactly the strike stands now as on one hand the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners and Distributors Association are seen giving out statements of a impending complaint and on the other, reports suggest TFPC is gearing up for a tri-party meeting today with the State Government and representatives of the Tamil Nadu Theater Owners Association.
