No Corruption, No Freebies, Quality Education - Key promises of Kamal Haasan at Makkal Needhi Maiam party launch

Kamal Hassan had officially launched his political party "Makkal Needhi Maiam" (People Justice Centre) at Madurai yesterday. He had also unveiled the party’s flag that symbolizes the strength of unity.

 

The flag, depicts six hands holding onto one other. "It reflects the six southern states/union territory and the six pointed star at the centre reflects people," Kamal said.

His answers to few questions that were asked at the party launch. 

 

Cauvery Issue - On the Cauvery river water dispute with Karnataka, Kamal said if proper dialogue is held, then Tamil Nadu could get the water it needs.

 

'No Left Or Right, I'm Centre' - On whether his party's ideology will be left or right, he said: "We have kept centre in the party name. We will take good things from wherever we get it." 

 

Improving the condition of Tamil language - "Be proud and happy to talk in Tamil. Primary education should be take place in the regional language, but that doesn't mean we reject any other languages."
