Mediocre Movies Rule the Roost

1. Vedi showed sharp drop in screens given the poor reviews. Thanks to Sun Pictures who is trying to keep it afloat through their incessant promotions.

2. Engeyum Eppodhum is steadily holding its position and shows normal drop expected on a week-to-week basis.

3. Vellore Maavatam gets a lot of screens with backing from its producer, AGS. The movie is receiving above average response from critics and audience.

4. Muran and Vaagai Sooda Vaa could not avoid the drop even though the critics were extremely generous in their reviews for both these movies.

5. Mankatha continues to sink like a rock and now has just 13 shows a day in Chennai and Suburbs. It may cross 50 days in just a few screens. Hey, who cares... Mankatha is the 4th biggest grosser of all time in Tamil.

6. Sadhurangam's outdated look and feel is affecting its prospects. The movie got only limited screens.

7. New releases Varnam and Ra Ra managed to get only a handful of screens.

8. There are posters claiming that a new movie called Varudangal 20 has been released. But, nobody is able to find the theatre where it is actually screened. Please report to us if you can find it.
