ICYMI, actress Nayanthara and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan took turns to express their frustration with actor Dhanush on Saturday, after Dhanush failed to give the couple a no-objection certificate for using Naanum Rowdy Dhaan material in their Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale.
Dhanush's Wunderbar Films seemingly sent a legal notice demanding a compensation of Rs. 10 Cr. after a 3 second footage of Vignesh and Nayanthara from the sets of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan appeared in the trailer of the Netflix documentary.
Copyright is a serious business in the film industry, and cordial relations play a very important part in free usage of intellectual property (IP). Since Nayanthara has worked with Dhanush in the past, and even done free appearances for Dhanush's Wunderbar Films production company, Nayanthara's scathing open letter and Dhanush's equally no-barred PR counter has raised a lot of eyebrows.

Notably, Nayanthara seems to have earned the support of most actresses who have particularly worked with Dhanush in the past. Aishwarya Rajesh (Vada Chennai), Aishwarya Lekshmi (Jagame Thandhiram), Shruthi Haasan (3), Nazriya Fahadh (Naiyaandi), Anupama Parameswaran (Kodi), Parvathy Thiruvothu (Maryan), Manjima Mohan (dropped Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam project), Gouri G Kishan (Karnan), were among actors to show social media solidarity to Nayanthara's big diss of Dhanush.
Dhanush's Vada Chennai co-star Aishwarya Rajesh has since said to have unliked Nayanthara's Instagram post. Dhanush's Maryan co-lead Parvathy Thiruvothu went to on share Nayanthara's scathing words about actor Dhanush to her Instagram stories.
